CRANBERRY MARGARITA USING A VIRGINIA-MADE BLUE AGAVE “BLANCO” SPIRIT

*1 to 1.5 ounces of Fresh Lime Juice
*2 ounces of unsweetened cranberry juice
*1 ounce of Cointreau
*2 ounces of Mt. Defiance Blue Agave Spirit
*100% Blue Weber Agave nectar to taste, if desired (I use Organic Agave In The Raw Nectar – Organic Agave Nectar)
For this cranberry margarita, I used a Blue Weber agave “blanco” spirit produced by a Virginia distillery and cidery, Mt. Defiance. The blanco agave spirit is produced using distilled agave nectar that is produced in Middleburg, Virginia. It is double distilled in a copper pot still. The Mt. Defiance blanco agave spirit bears many aroma and flavor notes that are similar to a basic blanco tequila produced the traditional way. It does have a unique taste as well and is ideally used in cocktails, though it is also a decent sipper.
