The blanco has unmistakable classic Blue Weber agave aromas & flavors but is also entirely unique. Cooked agave, sweet cinnamon, many floral notes, minerality, fruit.
The reposado is pound for pound (or ounce for ounce) my favorite reposado tequila. It is unbelievably rich in both aromas & flavors. It has a creamy mouthfeel with notes of cooked agave & baking spices, dark chocolate, caramel & butterscotch, vanilla, black pepper, minerality, & a floral hint from the blanco. It is a blend of American White Oak, French Limousin Oak, & Acacia.
The high proof Maestra Selection No. 1 blanco, literally a farm to table bottle over 8 years in the making using agave plants grown from seeds, has bright tropical fruity notes along with classic blanco notes of caramelized cooked agave & baking spices, citrus, anise, vegetal/herbal notes, minerality from deep well water, & black pepper.
The limited edition Añejo Gran Reserva, with its beautiful night blue bottle, has rich notes of agave & baking spices, cherries, floral notes, citrus, vanilla, caramel & butterscotch, coffee, & chocolate. It is a blend of añejos aged in barrels made from American White Oak from different geographic locations, French Limousin Oak, Acacia, & Cherry.
The cristalino reposado, filtered using coconut husk charcoal, is one of the best in its category with aromas & flavors of cooked agave, coconut, vanilla, & caramel.
Mijenta’s brand logo is a rabbit, taken from the “400 Rabbits” (Centzon Tōtōchtin) Aztec myth about the children of the goddess of agave, Mayahuel, with each representing a different type or stage of intoxication. When a person drank too much, they were believed to become temporarily possessed by one of Mayahuel’s children.
