Perhaps the most enjoyable part of spirits is sharing them with friends & family – to get other people’s opinions on bottles you enjoy, even if they end up not liking them as much.
It’s the academic in me – I LOVE sharing details (probably too many). Below are screenshots of an information packet I wrote up for two folks whom I shared nearly 50 sample bottles with collectively.
Recently I shared 45 (2 ounce) samples of a range bourbons, ryes, single malt whiskies, tequilas, a mezcal, & a liqueur with two fellow spirits enthusiasts, both of whom primarily drink whiskies & have limited experience with agave spirits. Nineteen of the samples for each were the same but I also gave “Person #1” (to protect their anonymity) four unique samples (two bottles of a mezcal) & “Person #2” three unique samples. In the future, I’m hoping to hear about what they think of all of them (& have heard about several of them already).
I also routinely share samples with friends & a few university colleagues into scotches & other whiskies.
I love sharing spirits I enjoy & will continue doing so. Cheers!
