These are some of my “milestone spirits” – spirits that changed how I think about a particular spirits type/category.
*Mijenta Blanco (NOM 1499) was the bottle that got me truly into craft tequila.
*1792 Bottled in Bond, a Virginia ABC single barrel pick, was the first bourbon I enjoyed and showed me how good a bourbon could be.
*The Glenlivet 15 Year French Oak Reserve was one of the first scotch whiskies that I enjoyed and, together with the distillery’s 14 Year Cognac Cask and Bruichladdich’s The Classic Laddie, led me down the wonderful path of scotch.
*The Virginia Distillery Company’s Courage & Conviction Signature American Single Malt, together with the distillery’s Cabernet Cask, Cider Cask, and Port Cask American single malts as well as the Courage & Conviction Double Cask Reserve and Cuvée Cask, led me down the path to whiskies – Without them and American single malts, I would never have started to explore the worlds of whisky.
