From Favorites to Not Favorites: Replacing Office Bottles with Other Bottles

After graduate student socials were a dud and my faculty partner and I decided we shouldn’t be the driving forces organizing a student event for both of other seminar groups, I’ve started to transition office bottles – some of which are my absolute favorite spirits bottles that I own – back home.

The entire experience was a monumental waste of time, energy, and effort.

I’ve decided to replace them with my least favorite and/or least poured spirits bottles. Some are tequilas from earlier in my exploration of agave spirits. Some are whiskies that I don’t think are “bad” as in poorly produced – they just aren’t my preferred flavor profiles. Moving them to the office will open up some space so I can open up some bottles at home that I actually want open.

Folks had the opportunity to try some great (in my opinion) spirits bottles but didn’t follow-through despite rhetorical buy-in. If I go to any group events going forward, I’ll just bring one or two of these replacement bottles and that will be everyone’s lot.
