For the past five weeks I’ve taught a special elective course during my institution’s electives period of the academic year (AY) – it is a regular favorite of our graduate students because their two electives are one of very, very few choices they get to make about their coursework during the year. My elective, which I’m teaching for the third year in a row, is focused on Africa.
To mark the end of the elective and in accordance with majority student interest, we as a class will be gathering after the final seminar tomorrow for an optional social gathering. Folks will bring snacks and various beverages including non-alcoholic ones.
