Countering Casamigos: Blanco Samples for a Colleague

Samples shared with a colleague who enjoys blanco tequilas, his favorite being Casamigos Blanco.

First & foremost, I believe that people should drink what they enjoy how they best enjoy it & other people should mind their own business & keep their opinions to themselves unless asked. This colleague, however, is willing to try other blanco tequilas & so I selected 9 that, to me, are much better produced in terms of their processes than Casamigos resulting (to me) in higher quality tequila. But my colleague will decide what he thinks & I’m good with whatever that is – Kudos to him for being willing to try new things & to put up with my good-natured (after checking to ensure he doesn’t mind) my jesting with him about Casamigos.

*Tequila Ocho Plata – 2024, La Mesa estate – I’ve converted other colleagues to Ocho this academic year already & aim to add another convert to the win column

*Siempre Plata, one of the first artisanal blancos that made me fall in love with earthiness & fruity citrus notes in blancos

*El Mayor Blanco, reliable & budget-friendly

*El Mexicano Blanco with its fantastic lemon, lime, grapefruit prominent citrus profile

*Código 1530 Blanco – I’m a big fan of the brand’s entire line because of how its earthy, herbal/grassy, citrus, & anise notes express themselves in balance
