REVIEW – Siempre Reposado (NOM 1414) Tequila

NOM 1414 (Vintage/Lot: 11/2023; Bottle #4355)- A light yellow (straw) color, Siempre reposado’s aromas are light initially and, at first, were a bit hard to discern clearly, but opened up after the tequila rested in the glass and also on subsequent pours after the bottle had been opened, even just a day later.  Its aromas include mellow fruity (hints of cherry & raisin, maybe pear, perhaps some light/understated citrusy notes), floral, vanilla, barrel & oak influence including vanilla and light whiskey, and sweet baking spices/cinnamon/nutmeg and cooked agave aromas.  These aromas are also on the palate, which is defined by lovely fruity notes, cinnamon/sweet baking spices, and honey sweetness.  This sweetness is balanced and not particularly peppery or sharp, though there is a nice warming effect as you swallow the tequila.  Siempre reposado has a creamy mouthfeel for a bit mid-sip, though not as full as other reposados.

There is a medium-ish (not long) finish.  The tequila leaves beautiful tears and pearls on the glass.  It is affordably priced and of good quality/value.

-Tasted using a Glassique Cadeau tequila copita glass
