
Olmeca Altos, which was developed in partnership between its producers and mixologists to create a versatile bar well tequila, processes its Weber Blue agaves using both a roller mill and a tahona volcanic stone wheel to extract its sugars (aguamiel). It is then fermented in steel tanks without agave fibers before being double distilled in copper pot stills. The reposado is aged in American White Oak barrels formerly used to age bourbon and is then cut to 80 proof (40% ABV) using mineral rich deep well water.

COLOR: Amber
AROMA PROFILE: Strong ethanol initially, which dissipates as it aerates in the glass. Cooked agave & baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg), honey, fruity citrus (mix of orange and grapefruit), black pepper, vegetal notes, oak/barrel notes, caramel, & vanilla.
PALATE: Distinct cooked agave sweetness with the baking spices from the nose, muscular kick of black pepper, anise, barrel spice, caramel, vanilla, fruity citrus, & closes with oak tannins. The flavor profile is both robust, spiced, & (balanced) sweet.
MOUTHFEEL: Medium viscosity leaving tears & pearls on the glass
FINISH: Medium (6-7 seconds)
VALUE: Great mixing reposado tequila and a very pleasant sipping reposado at a budget-friendly price.
